Can I order by phone?
We only accept online orders through credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and tons of other options.
Does it require a hub?
No, it uses your wifi network and the TUO Life App.
Is there an issue to turn off my lights with a switch?
No, other than missing out on the circadian benefits of TUO lighting. Once your circadian schedule is set, just use your lights normally and the TUO Life app will run the right light modes at the right time for you automatically.
What is the life expectancy of the light bulb?
Do you have an affiliate marketing program?
TUO will have an affiliate program, please email email@example.com if you are interested.
What is the CRI of the TUO lamp?
The non-cricadian traditional white mode is 80+ CRI. The rest of the modes we are still finalizing the tradeoffs of CRI to circadian influence, where we are prioritizing the circadian effects. This is the most important part for us and our customers, that it really delivers significant circadian rhythm improvements. This is the entire reason we partnered if the University of Washington in the beginning to "get the science right". Once these are set we will share in the website.
Can I change the colors or the color temperature of the light?
The circadian lighting modes are designed to "look like" a white light, and can be made at nearly any color temperature. The first release of the bulb and app most likely will have a single color temperature for each mode, and then we will push out updates at a later date to add additional color temperature controls. The circadian lighting technology can mostly be independent of the visual colors.
We have prioritized the circadian lighting, and color changing lighting is in the backlog currently.
How does the TUO lamp spectrum compare to the sun's?
We (primates) have "dawn-detectors" recently discovered by the University of Washington, theorized to be how humans and primate circadian rhythms are set to a day/night schedule from living under the sun and moon.
The TUO light triggers this circadian color system for very effective circadian influence, at normal lighting levels (not like SAD lights at 10,000lux), and within a normal looking white light.
How is communication, does it send/receive signals constantly, periodically, or only a small pulse a few times a day?
We send a signal via wifi when there is a change by either user input, or your circadian schedule says it's time to change light modes. It is not currently designed to continuously send signals.
Given that so many of us spend an inordinate amount of time on various screens, does TUO impact that exposure?
TUO impacts this by making the lights around you at home and the office healthy for your ideal circadian performance. At some point, we hope to partner with one of these screen producing companies and help them get it right. Until then, we recommend lowering the brightness of screens in the evenings especially.
